Not For The Good We Have Done

                               Not For The Good

We can give money to the poor.  We can feed the hungry.  We can

open our homes to the homeless.  We can counsel children who

are in trouble.  Reason why God blesses us is not for the good we

have done. Some people might die for those who have done good,

but no one will die for those who have done wrong, and continues

to do wrong.  Our good actions are like filthy rags in God's eyes,

who we will stand in judgement of.  But by the blood of Jesus Christ

being sacrificed on the cross for our sins, we stand as white as snow.

(Isaiah 1:18). Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord.

Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.  Though

they be red like Crimson, they shall be like wool.  Not for the good we

have done, but for what God is: good.

I succeeded in becoming a writer because God is good.  I regained

my ability to walk because God is good.  I've completed two and a half

years of college because God is good.  I've gotten my book published

because God is good.  Jesus Christ is our righteousness, who erases

our sins because we fall short of the glory of God.  God commands us

no to boast about anything.  Because reasons we see prosperity in our

lives is not for the good we have done.

                 (Romans 5:21)

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through

righteousness unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ.
