Before The Last Trumpet Sounds

There are some sounds that are annoying.  Some sounds that are

pleasant.  But there's one sound that some people can wait to hear:

the last trumpet.  What are the things we want to accomplish?  We

better act on accomplishing them because we don't know when the

last trumpet will sound, just as we don't know when Jesus will return.

Because he will return in the blink of an eye.  (1 Corinthians 15: 52)

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet shall sound

and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

We must show God we love him before the last trumpet sounds.  We

show God we love him by keeping the Ten Commandments.  (Deuteronomy

5:7-21). Thou shall have no other gods before me.  Thou shall not make

you any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above,

or on the earth beneath, or that is in the waters below the earth.  Thou

shall not bow down to them or worship them,  for I, the Lord your God,

am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to

the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing love

to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Thou shall not take the Lord's name in vain, for the lord will not hold
anyone guiltless who misuses his name.  Observe the Sabbath day by keeping

it holy as the Lord your God commanded you    Six days you shall labor and do

all your work,  Neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant,

nor your ox or donkey, or any of your animals nor any foreigner residing in your towns.

So that your male and female servant may rest as you do.  Remember that you were

slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a nighty hand

and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the

Sabbath Day. Honor your father and mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that

your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you in the land the

Lord give you.  Thou shall not kill.  Thou shall not commit adultery.  Thou shall

not steal.  Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.  Neither

shall you desire your neighbor's wife.  Neither shall you covet your neighbor's

house, his field, his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox or his donkey, or

anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Before the last trumpet sounds, what heart conditions will we leave behind

to remember us as.   Admittedly there are times we are scared to death.  Before

the last trumpet sounds, we must be able to see reflections of Jesus in our mirrors.

Let's make that be realities in our lives.  Above all, we must fear God.  But connected

to that fear, when God looks at us, he must be able to see Jesus.  But we must be

urgent in this process because again Jesus will return in the blink of an eye.

(1 Corinthians 15:52).  In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.

For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will all be

changed.  So our actions must reflect Christ' actions before the last trumpet sounds.
